Note: Well, admittedly I'd never heard of the SesshomaruxKagome pairing until I found this site, but it seemed like a fun challenge to write a fanfiction about how they met so I tried it out and this is what I got so far. It's supposed to be like an alternate storyline to the series where Kagome has never meant or heard of Sesshomaru before even after Kikyo is revived and where she mets him after the events in the episode "Kagome's Voice and Kikyo's Kiss" and runs off and mets Sesshomaru instead of going home to the modern times like she does in the series. I wanted to include all the characters from InuYasha's group in so I have them at the beginning of the story and I tried to keep them as true to character as possible. Also, for the purposes of this fanfic, Rin and Jaken don't exsist. It's an alternate plot where Sesshomaru has never met them.
Kagome watched from behind a tree in InuYasha's forest as InuYasha grabbed Kikyo
and pushed her towards his chest. At first Kikyo tried to struggle, but then she
gave in. He moved his lips ever so slowly, gently towards hers, and, locked in an
embrace, they kissed for what seemed like ages to Kagome. Kagome couldn't take it
anymore. She ran farther into the forest, a trail of tears spilling behind her.
She tripped over a root and began to cry even more. "InuYasha, how could you?",
she asked aloud. Suddenly, she heard a rustling sound nearby and went to
investigate. An enormous white demon dog was stuck in some tree branches.
"You poor thing. I'll get you out of there. Don't worry," Kagome tried to soothe
the dog. She threw off her shoes and socks and began to climb the tree barefoot so
she could get a better grip. When she was a few inches from the top, she hesitated
because the dog growled at her. "Easy boy. It's ok," she tried to reassure him.
She carefully and slowly untangled the branches, but then paniced because the huge
dog was now only on one thin branch that could never support all his weight;but to
her amazement, he flew off. Curious, she tried to follow the dog,but couldn't
catch up so she went back to join InuYasha and the others. "Kagome? Is something
wrong?", InuYasha asked. She glared at him and didn't say a word.
"Geez. What's her problem?", InuYasha complained.
"She's probably pissed that you were cheating on her with Kikyo, you jerk,"Shippo
scolded.
"Shut up," InuYasha yelled as he hit Shippo on the head, causing a bump to appear.
"Hey! Ow! Kagome, InuYasha hit me!"
"Sit, boy!" Kagome commanded in an unusually fierce voice.
"Sit!"
"Sit!"
"Sit!"
"Sit!"
"Sit!"
"Sit!"
Soon, InuYasha's face was halfway in the ground.
"Ka-go-me!", he yelled in a muffled voice as he spit dirt out of his mouth.
"Serves him right. That two-timing jerk," Shippo snapped.
"When I get out of here, I'm going to get you Shippo!"
Miroku walked towards InuYasha. "Ah. You best be careful with women InuYasha. They
are very sensitive creatures."
Sango hits Miroku over the head with her boomerang. "You're one to talk. I caught
you flirting with the village women earlier."
Miroku smirked and giggled innocently.
"I'm going off alone for awhile to think, guys. Ok?", Kagome informs everyone, a
hint of sorrow in her voice.
Everyone nods.
"Hey. What about me? You can't just leave me here," InuYasha complains.
Kagome ignores him and goes off to a nearby field.
She sits and stares at the sky, just thinking to herself and crying until night.
She looks up at the stars and she notices a small white speck coming towards her.
"A shooting star?" she asks out loud.
The speck gets closer and starts to come into focus.
"No. Wait. That's the dog I rescued earlier!"
She hurriedly runs towards the others. She mets Sango and the transformed Kirara
halfway.
"Sango, what are you doing out here?"
"I came to find you and make sure you're alright."
"I will be eventually, but, for right now, I need to borrow Kirara if it's ok."
"of course.... Kirara, go with Kagome."
Kagome hops on Kirara's back and flies into the air. She trails the dog close
enough to see him but far enough behind him that she won't draw attention to
herself.
Atlast, the dog lands and he turns into a man, who looks a lot like InuYasha, only
older, with different markings, and hotter. She lands Kirara some distant away.
"Stay, Kirara." She heads towards the man slowly, silently.
"Who goes there?",he says unfeelingly, drawing his sword and preparing to strike.
When he sees it's the girl who rescued him, he lowers his sword. "Oh, it's you. I
suppose you want me to give you something in return for rescuing me?"
"N-o-o-o. Not at all. I just came here to make sure you're-you're ok," Kagome
stammered lightly.
"I'm fine. I'm not weak like you mortals. The forest is a dangerous place for
mortals so I suggest you get out while you still can."
"What's your name?", Kagome pipes curiously.
"They call me Sesshomaru."
"You kind of remind me of someone I know. His name's InuYasha."
"He is my brother, but I prefer to think of him as being dead so don't mention him
again," Sesshomaru says in a cold, but still calm voice.
"Oh. I'm sorry. I had no idea you two didn't get along. He never talks about you,"
Kagome apologizes.
"That's the only thing he and I have in common. We prefer to forget about each
other's exsistance."
"Oh. Sesshomaru, is it? You must be hungry. I'll go get you something to eat."
"Do whatever you want, girl. Just don't expect my loyalty."
Kagome runs off into the forest in search of food. She finds a deer and pulls out
her bow and arrows. She makes several shots but misses. She waits awhile, but then
another deer comes by and she shoots again and brings the deer down. She drags the
deer along the ground in the direction that she saw Sesshomaru go and eventually
meets up with him.
"Sesshomaru, I got you a deer. Let me cook some for you!", she calls ahead to him.
He sits by a tree and watches curiously as she rubs two sticks together and
creates a fire.
"Can you do me a favor and skin the deer with your sword?", she questions.
Sesshomaru skins the deer with Tokajin and then guts it.
"Thank you," Kagome says as she places the deer in the fire to roast.
He goes back to sit by the tree and looks in the other direction, occassionally
stealing a glance at Kagome.
He thinks silently to himself, "What is it about that mortal? Why do I feel like
this? I don't recognize this feeling."
"The deer's done," Kagome calls.
She gives him a generous portion which he sniffs cautiously and then eats.
He nods and starts to walk off, leaving the rest of the deer with Kagome.
"Wait. Don't go. We've only just started eating."
"I don't need much to eat. I'm not mortal. Remember?"
"Well, then just stay here and let's talk. I'd like to know more about you."
"Fine."
