Estivate

AN: This is the first of my Sess/Kag drabbles, and pretty much the first one I've done in the Inuyasha category, and first at Dokuga. Sorry for any OOCness, please treat my kindly :)

Word of the Day

Estivate - to spend the summer, as at a specific place or in a certain activity.

Kagome, despite her wishes, spent the majority of her summer in the Feudal Era. Of course she still travelled through the well to get supplies and such, but that was the extent of her time at home. How she would've loved to just go out with her friends, attend the summer festivals and maybe even spend a week in the country or down at beach.

But no, she was 500 years in the past; chasing after a magical bauble she shattered and the crazy tentacle-monster thing that coveted it. It was, to say the least, a most unpleasant way to spend the hot summer months. Although the countryside was beautiful, the dirt on the paths had its way of getting into your mouth, the supplies and covering you from head to toe, made worse by the fact that it stuck to sweaty skin. Nights were sticky and mornings were spent scratching at mosquito stings. These types of conditions, with all the dirt and sweat, made for a very irritable gathering of humans, demons and all those in between.

The only one seemingly unaffected by the heat was Sesshoumaru. He continued on at the head of the pack, uncaring and stoic. Kagome glared at him.
‘Great, I get to spend all summer in the Feudal Era following Sesshoumaru around. While he stays all clean and dry, I'm sweating like a pig and covered in dirt. Damn demons…’

AN: Yes I know it sucks… my excuse; I haven't really done any fanfic for a long while.  Maybe I'll expand on this some more later…
