DDN Drabbles by Smittee

A bundle of variety

There are prompts for both Aug. 8th and Sept. 4th in this posting. I do not own these characters. I merely write for the entertainment of just doing so, and do not seek profit.

Prompt: Light (For Aug. 8th)

'Light... I face no light. I face only the darkness that forever surrounds me. Betrayed by my own comrade. He sold us to our enemies. What sort of viking would do such a thing. No comrade of mine!' Stanidn up from his kneeling position, the great leader found himself facing what would be an act of fate.

"Last of my warriors, we shall never again see Naraku as our ally. For what he has done only serves as our vengeance agaisnt him. Unlike the many we fought before, we give him no honor! No mercy! When his death has come, and the valkyries do not take him, the light will once again shine on these lands!"

Vikings roared their acknowledgement. They shall seek vengeance.

(Sept. 4th)

Prompt: Pattern

Staring. Staring. Staring….

Kagome didn’t know how long he had been sitting there.

Sesshomaru was sitting at the dining room table, with his head down over the table cloth. She wasn’t sure what prompted him to do so. Maybe he just liked the look of the table cloth. She knew she had.

Made with strange and exotic swirls and zig zags, Kagome fell in love with it. It was a surprise, for this was the first time she had ever revealed it. Though, she wonder if she might regret it, as Sesshomaru had been looking at it for over thirty minutes now.

Stepping over to him, she spoke his name. At no response, she pushed on his shoulder. His head hit sideways on the table. His eyes had that anime confused spinning look to him, and there was drool on his chin.

“Sooo.. Dizzying. Can’t figure out the design.”

Kagome blinked. She never saw him like this. She turned to look at the tablecloth closer.

“You know. You have a point. It is dizzying, isn’t it?” She felt her head begin to spin, as she found herself looking too long. Shaking her head, the miko brought herself out of. Immediately, she took it off the table to burn.

‘No tablecloth is worth a drooling Sesshy.’

Prompt 2: Stitch

Sesshomaru raised his brow and crossed his arm. He knew that look. Kagome had a box behind her that she was hold, and the little adorable look she gets when she asks for a really big favor. Even more so, he noticed the box would move every once in a while, and one of the side was soaking wet.

“Kagome, what is in the box?” In his thought, it could be either a slobbering boxer or some sort of evil cat. Either way, he knew he would say no, she would pled, and then he’d have no choice but to listen.

“Well-ah… I’m not really sure…”

Now this was interesting. “Not sure?”

“Well….”

Kagome set the box down, and began to un-tape it. All of a sudden, this weird blue koala-like thing pops out, snarling and drooling all over the place.

Having no second thoughts, Sesshomaru grabbed Kagome and pulled her away from that-that thing.

“Um… It said it’s name was Stitch. He had been complaining about your scent outside, saying he never smelled anything like it. I think this is a defensive reaction.”

Defensive reaction his butt. This thing was a clear answer.

“No Kagome! Absolutely no!

An hour later.

“Say thank you to Sesshy for letting you stay,” spoke Kagome to the beast.

“Ta-taaaanks,” spoke the creature, before it began licking in its nose.

Oooh, did Sesshomaru regret his decision now.

Prompt: Sew

Sesshomaru was at work, and Kagome was bisy washing dishes. Humming to herself, she soon heard crying over it. “What could be wrong?” She could tell it was Rin. Putting down the dishes and drying her hands, Kagome hurried towards Rin’s voice, soon appearing in her room. Rin had somehow gotten into her sewing kit. She had every thimble on her finger. Quickly kneeling down, she began to check the girl’s hands.

“Rin, are you okay?? What are you doing with Mommy’s sewing kit??”

Rin sniffled. “I’m sorry. Mommy.  I-I had to fix Lo-lo. But-But.” She began to cry more. Picking up the teddy bear, Kagome could see she had been trying to sew the head back on her bear.

“Oh, I see.” Kagome knew the toy had been through a lot, so it wasn’t surprising that it happened.

Smiling sweetly, she took up the bear in hand. “Don’t worry Rin, I’ll fix Lo-lo as good as new.”

“R-really?” Rin’s eyes lit up with hope. When Kagome nodded, that was enough for the little girl to reach out and hug her.
..

Prompt: Seam

The seam of the intricately sewn blouse can easily run. Then the ties of it all are severed. It is no longer a blouse, but a mere piece of cloth. But, even as cloth, it has it’s use. It may just be different from what it was before. Still, it is useful.

Naraku sat in the fetal position. After the battle, Kagome had found a way to make him vulnerable. Now only but one spider demon and the human within, he was not even strong enough to float away with miasma. What miasma did he have now.

Sesshomaru was glad at what she had done, but he couldn’t help but notice how unhappy Kagome had looked. Watching her, she pulled off the jacket she was wearing, and put it over Naraku. It covered the torn haori of his just enough to hide the scar upon his back. He watched a he looked up.

“I give you a second chance, Naraku. You have done so much evil. But now with all that hared out of you, you may finally be able to become a noble demon.” With that, Kagome watched away from him, and back over to Sesshomaru.

‘Such compassion even for her enemies. While is may not be the smartest thing, I admire that about her. Perhaps, it is one of the reasons I love her.’

Prompt: Needle

‘Come on, Kagome! You can do this! If you get one step into the door, you can find out what these scum did with Sango husband! It’s just a needle, right?’

She gulped, watched the demons luring above her. The only human in the room, a man by the name of Bankotsu, held the needle. He had dipped it in ink. If she fought the pain and made no sound, she would be allowed to join in as a temporary part of the group before her. If not, they’d probably kill and eat her. Demons weren’t known for their kindness.

In the dark shadowy corner sat a man. Long silver hair flowed over his shoulders. Golden orbs glowed from that darkness. That was about all she could tell. She knew he had to be the leader.

Before she knew it, the needle was stabbed into her arm. She bit into her lip, almost making it bleed, but did not squeal. She waited through the whole process, until there was shown the outlining of a fingernail moon on her arm. The marking of the Moon clan; some of the roughest gangs out there.

Now, she was apart of it.

Prompt: Thread

Shippo was getting really tired of Sesshomaru and Kagome’s lovey dovey ways. Never did he think he would ever see Sesshomaru show so much emotions. Now, he wished it would just stop! Worse, he was bored out of his mind!

The fox demon sighed softly. He stopped before he took his next step. Off onto some bushed was a long piece of thread that seemed to go through them. Curiosity struck, so he decided to follow. He picked up the length as he went, putting the end of it in his pocket. Further and further he followed it, till he got to a cave. Once there, he got shaky.

He peered inside slowly. What he saw was a shock to him! It was a bunch of fox and raccoon demons having some sort of party. What a sight!

One small fox popped his head out, seeing Shippo.

“Oh hey! Come on and join! You’re just in time with the great pranksters alike celebration! It’s when we come together to celebrate the many years of getting out of trouble!”

What a good day to sneak off for Shippo.

Prompt: Patch

Kagome walked up to Sango, who was sitting on the stairs of her apartment. Sango took a long inhale of the cigarette in hand. Kagome almost felt pity for her.  Sitting beside her, Kagome gave her a serious look.

“Sango, we need to talk. I think you need to get on the patch. You’ve been smoking for only 4 weeks now, but it’s like you’re never without it in hand. You’re addicted Sango, and you could die from it.”

Sango looked to Kagome and raised a brow. “Kagome, have you ever heard about those cigarettes they use for plays?”

“Yeah. The herbal ones. That way, they don’t-oh..” Kagome felt like an idiot then. She had wondered why the scent didn’t bother her as much. She had forgotten that Sango just got hired on in a play, as a minor role. Even though it’s minor doesn’t mean she doesn’t need to get into character any less than anyone else. Kagome should have known her friend wouldn’t actually smoke.
