The Yellow Flyer

With a sigh, she knew she had to do it, she had to put it up. Her hands shook and it rattled the bright yellow paper in her hand, crinkling it slightly as she held it up to the post, before taking the metal stapler and hanging it up.

Looking towards her friend, Kagome sighed. "I really wish I didn't have to do this."

"Kagome, I still don't understand why you didn't just ask me. I would do anything to help and you wouldn't have had to come down to renting out half of your home." Sango followed behind the younger female as they made their way down Main Street.

"No, it's my problem Sango, and I will fix it." She ran a hand through her raven colored tresses, her blue-grey eyes flashing to a dull blue color. Sango shook her head, her dark brown ponytail swishing back and forth with her movements. She understood Kagome's need to fix her own problems but she thought that this move was a little extreme.

Redirecting her gaze down to the yellow flyers in her arms, her eyes skimmed across the words.

Sango shook her head again, coming to another stop and handing Kagome another yellow flyer to put up. "Hey,"

Kagome looked up from her stapler, which had become jammed, "Yeah?"

"How much are you offering this place for anyway?"

"About $1,500. Why?" She gave a puzzled looked at her friend's shocked face.

"You cannot be serious! I mean, Kagome, you might as well just give the damn place away! Look at what you are giving them!" Sango shoves a flyer in Kagome's face, and at first pushed it away but Sango's persistence made her re-read it.

"You really think I'm being too lenient?" Her brow creased together, and the right corner of her upper lip scrunched up in a thoughtful manner. But the look Sango was giving her made Kagome sigh. "I just don't want to seem like I'm desperate, even though I really do need the money."

"Kagome, as a landlord, you have to tend to the property's overall condition along with the basic plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling systems, et cetera are functioning properly." Kagome nodded, she already knew all of this, memorized everything, been through the courts and what not, but now that she really that about it, she was providing a lot.

"You need to get your money's worth, that and the fact the place is gorgeous and huge. So, please for the sake of the building itself, push your price up."

She was quiet for a moment, "I tell you what, lets finish hanging these up, then we'll go for lunch and I'll call you later tonight with my new price. I want to go home and check over a few things before changing the rent price."

Sango nodded with a smile, she was quite happy that she had swayed her friend's mind, Kagome was usually rather stubborn and she was surprised at the turn of events.

Traffic yet again was the cause of today's currently forming headache. It was starting in the middle of the forehead and spreading out slowly. Its torturous pace beating down on his already frayed nerves. Sesshoumaru sighed, and sat back in his seat, the traffic seeming to have come to a halt.

Running a hand through his shoulder length black hair, his hand moved to rub the bridge of his nose, exhaling and inhaling slowly. His hazel-brown eyes narrowed in anger as an idiot behind him kept honking his horn constantly though that wouldn't make the jam become any less sticky.

Sesshoumaru worked at one of the largest restaurants in the world. The chain network spreading across international borders. The traffic had begun to chug again, and he glanced off to the side to see an exit coming up. 'Good, exit 10. I can get off there and bypass all this traffic taking some of the back roads.'

Switching lanes, and pulling off the freeway, Sesshoumaru went along with his designated plan of taking the back roads. He cut across a shopping center parking lot, too impatient to wait at the light.

In about 20 minutes he made it to work, cutting off an hour and a half he would have spent in traffic. But he always left an hour before work began, which was at 7:00 AM, meaning he woke up at 5:00, and left at 6:00.

Why exactly does he do this? Very easy, one, traffic, two, prepare for the lower, babbling idiot cooks to get to work, and three, oversee last night's progress and charts. Pulling up through the back, he parked and got out, brief case in hand.

His thoughts shifted to the upcoming events on the restaurant's schedule. An ambassador from Japan would be coming to view the restaurant to see if it was fit to begin a chain in Japan. And that ambassador just happened to be his father.

Sesshoumaru's brow creased, his father had wanted him to join Akiyama Law Firm or perhaps The INC., his father's co-owned technology company. The law firm was out of the question he just couldn't see himself working there, and his love of computers almost drove him to joining The INC., but the partner of his father was a man Sesshoumaru disliked.

Instead, he settled with food. His mother had a great love of cooking and often taught Sesshoumaru a few things when he was younger saying, 'You are growing up and you need to know how to feed yourself. Your mother is not always going to be around to cook for you,'

His restaurant was almost as well known as the American MacDonalds, though it has not officially been introduced in Japan yet, it is still known.

"Nakamura-sama!" Turning his head a slight, Sesshoumaru's eyes laid to rest upon a teenage girl. Her long brown hair bouncing as she jogged over to him, her deep brown eyes twinkling in happiness.

"Rin, what are you doing here so early?" He checked his watch though he already knew what time it was. "You don't have to come in for another hour or so."

"Yes, I know but Satonori told me to come in early seeing as how I'll be your personal assistant." Her head was tilted to the side in a rather innocent manner and Sesshoumaru had to refrain from smiling at the scene she made. Though almost fifteen, he still sort of saw her as the little girl that had become attached to him from the tender age of three.

He only nodded and walked into the building with Rin following close behind. Passing by a female worker, he caught her glare at Rin from the corner of his eye but the teen seemed unfazed. It was quite known that Rin and Sesshoumaru held a close relationship outside of work, seeing as how she was the only one that could talk directly to him in such an informal fashion.

Some of the women workers pined for Sesshoumaru's attention, many wanting to become his personal assistant the moment the position left his mouth but when they heard Rin had snagged the job suspicions had arisen that Sesshoumaru was pulling favorites. Yet that was not the thing, Rin was a hard worker, and when she first applied to work under Sesshoumaru Nakamura, he made sure to tell her that he would not treat her differently or above the other workers.

Rin had gotten the job fair and square.

Kagome trudged up the steps to her house, feeling worn out. Having tracked all up and down Main Street posting up flyers, and stopping and doing other such errands before having lunch with Sango which turned into more than she was hoping for. They had so happen to run into some of their friends, and the lunch for two became a lunch for few.

Lunch extended into an early supper and before she knew it, they were heading for an evening movie. Just about dragging herself up the steps to her floor, she fumbled with her keys and the lock for a moment before the door clicked, and she walked in.

Clapping her hands, the lights turned on and she smiled at the good job the men had done. She decided to have the sound sensing lights installed in the living room. One room would do for now, and if she liked it, she would install the rest of the house with it.

Her eyes turned to rest on the clock above the fireplace, it read 10:00 PM. 'Damn, I have to work tomorrow! Kagome thought unhappily, before a blinking red light caught her attention.

"Oh I have some messages." Walking over to the phone, she pushed the button and leaned against the wall slightly.

'You have 4 new messages'

'First Message'

-Hey Kag-chan, it's Sango, I'm calling to make sure you got home okay. Give me a call in the morning, love ya. Ja ne!-

Kagome pushed another button and erased the message, mentally noting to call Sango before she went to work in the morning.

'Next Message'

-Hey Kagome, it's me Kouga. I was wondering if you would like to catch a movie with me. I mean, it's not a date or anything. Miroku will be coming along; most likely Sango will be going with him, so yeah. Give me a call back, chao!-

She chuckled softly, 'That Kouga, always trying to get me to go with him...Not a date my ass...' She erased the message.

'Next Message'

-Kagome, it's mom. Just decided to drop you a little message since your cell seems to be off, well I left you a message there too. Souta and Jiichan say hi and we all hope you come to visit us sometime, you still have a family you know! We all love you so much!-

Kagome made another note to call her mother, before sighing. She hadn't been home in such a long time, perhaps a visit would be nice but at a later date. She saved the message.

'Next Message'

-Hello, my name is Sesshoumaru Nakamura, and I was wondering about your flyer for the condominium you have for rent. I would like to arrange a tour of the place and a chance to discuss the cost and other such matters. You can reach me at 1-860-314-1574 that is my cell phone number. Until we speak, Ms. Higurashi.-

Kagome's eyes were wide, it hadn't even been a day since the flyers were posted and she already had a possible tenant! Quickly, she jotted down the information and saved the message. This message really made her day seeing as how she had bumped into this real asshole who had been holding onto one of her flyers, and she wished to any god out there he wasn't going to call about the place.
