A quick tale for my dear friend Karlinda, who yet again was a buddy and joined with me on chat in my loneliness :D

A subtle mumble of happiness floated into the large commercial kitchen, placing down his coffee the lord lifted his eyebrow beneath his silver fringe, what on earth was that young woman up to?
Swiftly abandoning the honeysuckle walls and entering the silver hallway the demon lord couldn't help but ponder over his first encounter with the miko who had somehow come to live within the modern era. Of course the sky was a heavy storm the day he stumbled upon the clumsy woman who was slumped over in frustration - after time the daiyoukai came to understand that when the weather seemed glum, the miko did as well. Briefly he had placed a hand upon her shoulder and yet Kagome had remained fairly passive. That was until he showed her the photographs which he had collected over time, being a youkai had various benefits; this included a well-balanced eyesight.
The miko had bounced up and down demanding that he assist her in her own dreams of becoming a great artist. She too had shown him her various talents in representational art. The demon was not entirely impressed but once he saw her most valuable creation, he could not help but agree that her perspective was unusually different. Afterwards the two were going to various conventions and other outgoings whilst their interests brought them closer together.
Smiling at the memories the lord slowly peered into the room, Kagome – amazingly able to sense his aura turned around and beamed a radiant expression. Sesshoumaru could almost see the golden hue surrounding the woman who was coated in dry splotches of paint.
“Sesshoumaru, look!”
Holding up a reasonably large canvas his eyes softened at what now covered its once pristine surface. Every brush stroke held a small indication to the emotions which clashed within the artwork. Every colour and shade was matched to blend prettily, the shape of the paw was balanced, the golden curves of the woman who held the dog showed a vision of friendship. But what amazed him the most was the darkness within the woman's eyes, they were black and swirled like pools of water found within the deeper channels of a cave. It was astounding.
“Kagome, this is...”
“Wonderful? I thought you might agree with my perception.”
Striding over and allowing his fingertips to ghost over the long wavy swerves of the dog's fur he turned his eyes to stare at the young woman.
“Kagome,” taking the canvas from her hands he settled it back against the wooden structure which he had eagerly given to the miko.
The modern priestess stared in fascination as the fingertips which once neared her successive artwork, now touched the soft skin of her cheek; his fingers warm like the petals of a daisy underneath the bright sunlight.
Leaning his head down he slowly moved his pearly face towards her lustful mouth. As the woman allowed his proximity, the demon was quick to press a kiss against her soft lips. Grasping the white, crinkled part of his shirt, she clung to him, her body carving into his.
Parting her lips she gasped in breathless pants. The two stood within the workshop, comforted by the oddly placed silence.
Unable to remain upright the demon sat on the floor and pulled the incredulous woman onto his lap.
Relaxing into his hold Kagome's lips curved into a small smile.
“Never leave me.”
As he buried his face into her soft skin, Sesshoumaru nodded against her neck.
“I will never leave you.”
The End
