Summary: Kagome is surrounded and all alone to face her end, or is she?
“Inuyasha!!”
Kagome’s eyes swept across the scene infront of her, knowing that it mirrored the one behind and to each side of her aswell. Row upon row of demons. Hundreds of them were surrounding her, jostling to be in front of the rest, most likely for the honour of taking first bite of the longhunted Shikon Miko.
Eyes straining to see past them she caught site of Inuyasha behind them, slumped against a nearby tree, barely concious. The last hit from the wind witch Kagura had thrown him clear of the battle and his vision was now swimming, all sound seeming to be filtered through a layer of custard as he tried to rise, just able to make out Kagome’s voice calling. Calling who? Calling him?
Seeing that her hanyou saviour wasn’t around to come to her rescue she focused once again on the lower demons in front of her. Sheer numbers had overcome their ragtail group and now all her friends were either injured or fighting for their own lives. No-one could save her now.
She doubled her efforts at keepng the thin barrier that her miko powers had summoned around her as one of the nearest demons seemed to almost break through. Her power was fading fast and if she didn’t do something soon she was going to be ripped to shreds. Her bow and arrow were the other side of the clearing, she having dropped them as she ran to help Inuyasha.
Feeling her barrier flickering and failing she curled into a ball and awaited the end. She knew she was going to die and sat in a ball, clasping her hands around her knees and lowering her head to her knees, feeling her wet cheeks as she cried.
: This is it. After all this I’m going to die. What if Inuyasha dies to? Mom and Grandpa and Souta would never know what happened. I would just cease to exist to them. This is so unfair.
As she sat, wallowing in sadness she failed to notice the demons behind her blasted to smitherines by a tongue of bright blue energy. She did however look up as the ones infront of her screamed as a green poison whip of youkai tightened around them before it constricted and turned them to chunks of flesh. She gasped as sheturned to her saviour as he finished off the last of the group that had been baiting for her blood. Her heartrate increased, if it was at all possible, for there, fluidly sheathing his sword as he looked down at her was the great daiyoukai, Sesshomaru.
Her breath hitched in her throat as he extending his hand to help her up, an elegant silver eyebrow raised at her hesitation.
“Miko.”
She giggled giddily, taking his proffered hand and letting him help her up.
“Thankyou, Sesshomaru.”
