She stormed out of the apartment tears flowing from her midnight blue eyes blurring her vision. She didn't need to see where she was going though. She had grown up on these streets and knew every crack and pebble on them. 'How could he do this to me after all the time we've been together, 'she thought as she pushed past the people crowding the sidewalk never slowing her pace. She had returned from work to find her boy friend, Inuyasha, in bed with her cousin, Kikyou. Inuyasha and her had been a couple for two years, and she had never thought that he was capable of hurting her .tonight though she was proven wrong and it felt like her heart had been ripped from her chest.
She turned down a narrow ally, and came to stop in front of what looked to be an old abandoned store. However, Kagome knew better and entered the run down shop without a second thought. She was greeted by the familiar smell wood, brass, and dust as she stepped into what once was a popular music store. This was her place no one knew about it so she would come here to get away from life and be surrounded by nothing but her music. No one knew that she had any musical talent other than her family and the old owner of this store; who let her come any time she wanted.
The owner of the store heard her come in and smiled to himself. He loved it when she came in and filled his little shop once again with music. He turned his attention back to he man in front of him and found hard golden eyes staring at him in confusion. "What has your thoughts wandering away from the conversation Myoga?" The shop keeper in question said nothing but closed his eyes and put one finger to his lips and cupped his ear with his other hand.
That was when they both heard it; the sound of a soft melody entered and filled the room. The tune held a certain amount of sorrow, but at the same time it was gentle and understanding. Myoga looked at the man who he had been talking with to see what his reaction to he music had been. He was surprised to find that the man, Sesshomaru, was on his feet and heading for the door that lead to the shop and the source of the music.
She had thought that she was the only one in the store when she sat down in front of the old dusty piano. She never played in front of people if she could help it ;whenever she did she always seemed to get nervous and would mess up . Playing was an escape a way to relax and unwind. As her fingers began to move over the worn ivory ,her eyes closed and she was lifted away to a world made just for her.
He watched her long slender fingers softly caress the keys of the piano as she swayed and moved with music never opening her eyes. He stood there in a trance as he watched and listened to the music that this raven haired beauty produced. He came out of his stupor and looked around the shop to find his instrument of choice. Finding it long forgotten in a corner he grabbed the worn out cello, and soundlessly pulled up a chair next to the girl at the piano.
Her eyes shot open when she first heard the sounds of another playing with her. She looked over to see who would think to such a thing as to interrupt her when her words froze in her throat. There sitting next to her was the most attractive being she had ever seen in her life. His face was narrow ,defined with markings two maroon stripes and a crescent moon. He had long silver hair that reached down past his butt which was currently restricted in a low ponytail. None of that mattered once she looked at his eyes because at that moment time stood still she found herself lost in a sea of gold that seemed to shine on its own. When he blinked she came out of her daze and turned back to the piano. This time however the song she played was different instead of sorrow it spoke of hope, instead of betrayal it spoke of faith , and instead of hate it spoke of love. Sesshomaru joined her on the cello, and together the two played. Time, responsibility, and the world where all forgotten by the two musicians.
Myoga smiled when he heard the change in the girl's song and knew that from that point on nothing was going to hold Kagome back . He sat back and listened to the music of two hearts.
