His silver hair haunts her mind constantly. Here she stands in the midst of the silent forest- her companion is nothing but solitude for that is what this enigma of a man is. She recalls the feeling of the strands of his hair tangling in her fingers, the soft sensation that rattled through her fingertips when she touched his lips and recalls the day she traced the outlines of his magenta markings. Her heart feels the constant beating, the sudden sinking - the reactions that inevitably occur when she carries his gaze.
Never did she believe she would fall so hard for one man. Never did she think that she would completely understand.
She thought love was destroyed long ago, when another crushed her heart - whispering her bittersweet nothings in her ear,
promising her a lifetime... It was a promise that he couldn't bear to even keep.
"Sesshoumaru." A name that had once driven fear inside her now provides a sanctuary for her steadfast will.
Here she stands in the midst of the silent forest- creeping ever so slowly forward not minding at all the dampness below her as she walks ever so gracefully along the sides of the still lake.
Her ebony hair flows and cascades the wind embracing her small, petite frame - one slip of a girl who holds his stone cold heart; or rather steal. If so, he points out only her to blame. Unexpected it was when she graced his features, the feelings it aroused gave a meaning much deeper than he ever grasped in his thousand years of living on pride that was steeper and harder than what he has now to call his own. He remembers the first day he met this wonder: her fiery voice- so unhesitant when it came to love, he pondered, or even understanding. She gives him a reason to be so demanding of her herself because he believes that she is everything.
And he believes everything is worth having - but never did he believe that he would attain it by simply falling in love with one slip of a girl who somehow found a way to seep into his heart without words or say or touch.
"Kagome." She didn't have to do much, but be herself.
So he stands in the midst of the silent forest- both he and her both clearly know it as she nears him and consumes his space.
Yes, they both know it. They love each other.
"With every kiss I give you, I will add another."
He accepts her offer.
They are happy together.
From there, it's love forever after.
