At Carnaval by Dominik Journot

Let me see you

So, here, in Brazil, I'm going through the very last day of carnaval, which is very sad considering I'll have to wait all the upcoming months until next february LOL. I was pestering around the web when I came up with the idea for this oneshot. I believe Sesshomaru will be a little ooc.

Not even all the research in the world could've prepared Kagome for that experience. When it comes to Brazil, you can find plenty stuff on the internet, and, of course, it's easy to chat with a brazilian and try to check information, but reading can't give you the energy you find at carnaval.

It seems there is something on the air, some sort of electricity that simply makes you go for four days deprived of sleep and still smilling.

This trip had taken her and her friends, Yuri and Hikari, a lot of planning. You see, in Salvador the party starts after lunch time (because you don't actually eat real, decent food) at the local sororities, nothing like the american ones, just a bunch of students who decide to live together so they can save money to spend on other, more interesting, activities.

Anyhow, Kagome had met a brazilian girl online and after a whole year talking and planning Kagome and her friends decided to come to Brazil.

Once the plane landed, the petit japonese girls could see the difference between Brazil and Japan. First thing to notice, the weather. This time of the year, termometers easily score around 34ºC, meaning short skirts and swimming suits, specially because of the beaches.

So, Kagome and her two friends met Adriana at the airport and the brazilian girl took the three foreigns sightseeing in morning because the afternoon was already booked for partying.

Already a little more at easy with the weather, after a nice shower and apropriate clothes, the girls went to a sorority. It was time to start drinking, for it was almost 3 pm. The shot of the day, of course, was reserved to caipirinhas.

"Dri" Kagome said "Can you teach me how to do these caipirinhas? I'd like to do them at home" The communication was in english all the time, considering the nether the brazilian spoke japanese nor the japanese girls spoke portuguese.

"Of course honey" Adriana answered "You see, it quite easy, and it depends a lot on how strong you want it to be. So, first you peel off two lemons and cut them in four. Aftwards, add sugar until you've couvered the lemons. Then, with the back of you knife you squeeze the lemons and the sugar - be carefull not to cut yourself. Add up pinga or vodka - it's up to you - and squeeze again. If it is too strong, add some water, otherwise, more vodka. After that, add ice and shake it" Adriana explained and prepared one for Kagome at the same time. "Here, taste it".

"Oh, it's quite sweet, it's very good"

"Yeah, but go easy on that, it goes right to your head".

After some drinks, Adriana gave the girls the t-shirts for the Abadá.

"How does this Abadá works?" Kagome asked "It's quite simple, you pay, they give you this t-shirt and with that they grant you acess to an area closer to the truck" Adriana explained.

"What's with the truck again?" Hikari asked "Well, it's called Trio Elétrico and the band goes on top of it, performing, meanwhile we dance around it all the way through the avenue, let's go?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was great. There wasn't a great need to be coordinated or to have great dancing skills, all that was needed was to have energy to jump for six hours. And it was easy to kiss randomly too, but Kagome wasn't that kind of girl.

It was already four in the morning of the last day of carnaval and Kagome hadn't kiss anyone. She was ok with that, all her three companions had kissed really cute guys and Kagome too wanted to have a summer love to talk about with her friends in Japan, but she wasn't about to force a situation just so she could say she had kissed someone.

Then she saw him. Long silver hair, even at distance she could see he had beautiful eyes, she just couldn't spot the color. but her friends were moving and she wouldn't be able to catch his eyes.

"See anything you like?" Adriana asked.

"That guy, over there, near that bar, but he is so far away" Kagome said with a pout.

"But that is so damn easy to solve, c'mon, I'm thirsty"

"Oh, there is a guy selling water here"

"But if I buy water at that bar, you'll be able to see him closer, how about that?" Adriana said "I think we should buy water there then", Kagome answered.

Gold. He had beatiful golden eyes that, she was sure, were able to melt her. But Kagome never had a chance to think anymore after that conclusion because he had his lips on hers. Soft and demanding. His strong arms around her tinny waist. She was making an effort to reach out to him, for he was quite a foot taller than she, when he smoothly grabbed ehr by the waist to take her of her feet.

It was the best kiss of her life.

"C'mon, Sesshomaru, the show is about to start" She heard one of his friends scream. He looked at his friends and Kagome looked at hers.

"I have to go" She said.

"Me too" And with another kiss they broke apart.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following day, Adriana drove them to the airport and the four girls promissed to keep on touch. Kagome was simply daydreaming about the golden eyed god.

"Kagome, hey, Kagome, earth to Kagome" Yuri said, snapping her fingers in front of Kagome's eyes. "Yeah, hey, hey, sorry, I sort of spaced out"

"Not hard to guess why" Hikari joked.

"So, aparently they placed me and Hikari together and you are a roll behind us, is that ok? Do you mind sitting with a stranger?"

"It's ok, it's not like I'll be paying atention".

Kagome was indeed cool with the sitting arrangements, after all, there wasn't much she could do about it, anyway. They boarded and Kagome sat by the corridor. What was in fact giving a sour taste to her good mood was that she had finally comprehended that she wasn't going to see Sesshomaru again.

"I'm sorry, miss, can I pass? Miss" A warm hand on her shoulder, sending shivers up and down her spine, made Kagome snap out of her musings. She looked up to see the same golden eyes she was day dreaming about.

"Sure" She allowed him passage. He was going to sit by her side, all the way to Japan, she just couldn't believe. "Y-you are going to Japan too?" He smiled "Yes".

He put his hand on hers.

"My flight was booked for tomorow afternoon. Your friend Adriana was a tough one to persuade, but she finally gave me enough information to see you again".

Kagome looked around slightly lost, to be sure she wasn't day dreaming again, just to see two friends looking back and smiling, somehow they knew about this all along.

"Why did you do it?" She asked shyly.

"Because I'll never be apart from you again".

There you go.

It was a true recipe for Caipirinha!

If you are in the mood, review.

Best Wishes
