Trigger Warnings - Story will contain MAJOR character(s) death(s) and Child loss, I will not go into details on any of it. But you have been warned. Kagome loved the Shinto religion but growing up in the modern era, she had developed a love for many goddesses. Her passion was for the Roman and Greek goddesses but there was still a select few from other lands that she favored. Her passion was for the Roman and Greek goddesses but there was still a select few from other lands that she favored. She prayed to the Greek Goddess Athena for wisdom each time they had gone to battle with Naraku in the times when they were shard hunting. It felt right back then she felt that no matter what hairbrained plan they managed to pull off it was thanks to the goddess of strategy and war.
As the shard hunting group trekked across Japan, she decided that she should also pray to the Greek Goddess Artemis (Roman counterpart Diana.) It just felt right. Artemis was known for her bow and arrow and that was the preferred weapon of Miko. So as Kagome wandered the wilds of Japan she added Artemis as a recipient of her prayers.
Once the Shikon jew was dealt with, she was ripped away from the feudal era back to the modern era that she had been born in. She had mourned the loss of her first love, the boy she came to look at as her son and the friends that had become her family she then started to pray to the goddess Hecate. Kagome had found herself at a crossroad should she try to pick up and live her life in the future where she felt as an outcast, when all she wanted was to follow her heart and ask for whatever magic that lay dormant in the well to allow her to cross time and go back to the feudal era.
Her prayers to Hecate helped her through the difficult time she had navigating the world again and readjusting to the loss of all that she had once known. The well had reopened and she took the dive to go back to the time that had truly felt like home. As she went through the well and time swirled around her she could swear Athena, Artemis, and Hecate were there with her. Athena gave Kagome Courage, Artemis walked with her through the forest in the form of a beautiful doe guiding her under the waxing moon.
As Kagome began to create home and settle down she started to pray to the Roman Goddess of home and hearth Vesta (Greek counterpart Hestia). Things were falling into place for Kagome she was with her first love, and the family she created. She and Inuyasha were happy, Shippo was off to the fox academy, Sango and Miroku had started their own family and had three children running around already.
It took only two years before Kagome and Inuyasha had decided to grow their own family. At that time Kagome continued to pray to her favored goddesses. Now, though the prayers had changed to Vesta she continued to pray for protection and comfort in her home. To Hecate she prayed for a safe childbirth when they conceived. To her prayers she added a new goddess also, now she also prayed to the roman goddess Venus (Greek counterpart Aphrodite.) for fertility, prosperity and love. They tried for three years with no success but still she prayed.
