Okay this is a long one. We’ve been watching Twilight as a part of finding things to do while we stay at home nowadays. And let’s just say, after laughing for a bit, I got hit with an idea and then the plunnie ran away with me as they tend to do.
I was hoping for a T rating but that also didn’t happen. There are no lemons, maybe some implied limes. This isn’t a romantic story.
This was to go in my Book of Prompts but this has a lower rating than my last prompt so I figured I'd post it as a stand alone
Please enjoy.
Summary: Sesshoumaru is a vampire and Kagome finds out her blood is sweet.
Compulsion.
A feminine cry pierced the quiet of the darkened room, muffled by the loud music and chatter of party goers. Anyone who heard it would assume a couple had snuck away from the large party to see to their more amorous needs. The door opened not very long after and a tall man with long blonde hair stepped out and closed the door behind him. He glanced around the packed room to see if anyone noticed his presence, before walking purposefully to the bar on the other side of the room, keeping to the outskirts of the tightly packed throng of people.
Bright hazel eyes took in the gathering, the room itself wasn’t big but the party was the first of the school year by this particular fraternity. He noticed students spilled out onto the back lawn on the frat house, everyone in varying states of drunkenness. Stepping up to the ‘bar’ he nodded to one of the younger males in charge of the flow of alcohol and a red plastic cup was passed along in return.
Nodding his thanks, he turned to exit the loud room into the cooler air of the patio and back lawn, nodding and smirking in greeting to the various women and men who called out to him.
“First party of the calendar in the bag, I’d say this is a good turn out.” A man with short brown hair walked over in greeting, clapping the blonde-haired man good naturedly on the back.
“Lots of fresh meat, eh Sesshoumaru?” Another blonde-haired man greeted with a smirk. The man named Sesshoumaru hid his own smirk with a drink of his liquor.
“InuYasha my friend, please don’t scare the freshmen, there are some delectable looking options this year.” the brown-haired man said pervertedly, eyes darting from one cluster of women to the next.
“Miroku, you shouldn’t talk about scaring freshmen, If I’m not mistaken, you have a restraining order or two.” A petite woman walked into the small circle; her bright blue eyes crinkled in mirth at her friend’s discomfort.
“Nice of you to dress up for the occasion, Kags.” InuYasha griped, taking in the girl’s school logo sweatshirt and jean shorts. She stood out from the sea of dressed up women, no doubt trying to gain attention and a partner or two to end the night with.
“You can just be happy that I’m here ya know. And look, at least I’m wearing shorts, I could be in sweats right now.” The girl pouted, kicking out a long leg to emphasize her point.
“Feh.” InuYasha grunted, turning his head as if looking for someone.
“She’s by the kiddie pool in the front, I passed her on my way in here. And she’s wearing that top you like.” She sang, noticing the man’s distraction. His eyes whipped to hers and she nodded indulgently, as if to confirm what she said was true. He all but ran off.
“Man, he is whipped.” Miroku joked, shaking his head at his friend’s hasty exit.
“Leave him alone, I think it's cute that she's taking him on a merry chase.” the young woman defended.
“And what about you Kagome, leading anyone on a merry chase lately?” Miroku teased, the girl’s blue eyes widened as she looked between the two men she called friends.
“Well you know me, I like my men emotionally unavailable, so I do the chasing” she joked, taking a big swig from her cup.
“Oh Kaggie, let's find you a man for the night, eh?” Miroku sighed dramatically, throwing his arm around the petite woman’s shoulders. She only rolled her eyes good naturedly at him as he pulled her back into the main room of the party.
Sesshoumaru stood alone on the patio, not in the least perturbed. He looked through the throng of people and caught eyes with a bleach blonde, she smiled shyly at him and he smirked before making his way over to her.
.:o0o:.
A few nights later found Kagome locking the doors at a small corner cafe and pocketing the keys. She hummed whatever music was playing in her earphones and jumped in fright when she turned around and saw someone standing behind her.
“Kami!” she hissed, holding clutching her chest. “Sesshoumaru.” she greeted after getting her breathing under control and plucking the buds from her ears.
Seemingly darkened hazel eyes took in the woman before him, her work uniform of a button up, vest and skirt showed her figure in an attractive way.
“What are you doing out so late?” she asked when he didn’t say anything. She brushed a lock of hair behind her ears, taking in the athletic attire he wore. She had no clue why he would be out at this time of the night, they were friends, well more like acquaintances. She was friends with his brother and a few mutual friends, she never really got the opportunity to get close to the older man, he seemed to always be off doing his own thing or finding a date.
“I couldn’t sleep, so I jog. I should be asking the same, it’s almost 2am. Doesn’t this place close at 9?” he looked back to the darkened shop behind her.
“It did, I had to do stock taking. Normally I have help, but that didn’t happen today.” She grumbled. “Well, have a good run, hopefully you can get some sleep tonight.” she said with a wave before walking off. He grabbed her arm and she jerked back, looking at him in surprise of his fairly strong grip.
“Allow me to walk you home, it’s not safe for you to be walking alone at this time of the night.” he explained.
“You don’t have to; I’ve got pepper spray and I know some killer kung fu moves.” she said lightly with a smile. Appreciating his concern all the same. She wasn’t joking however, she trained heavily when she was younger, she grew up on a shrine and her grandfather was adamant that because their family was descendants of warrior monks and miko, the tradition should live on.
“Still, I wouldn’t be comfortable with leaving you to go home on your own.” He insisted, imploring her with his eyes.
She regarded him for a moment before shrugging and agreeing. This would probably be the most they’ve interacted. “This way.” she said pointing in the direction she had started off in and he nodded.
They walked in silence for a block before she let her curiosity open her mouth. “I didn’t know you have insomnia, is it a very severe case or like a once in a while thing?” she asked, looking over at him while she walked.
He watched her from the corner of his eyes, taking in the long slope of her neck that he could see with her hair up. She had a few piercings in her ears, he never noticed them before.
“Yeah, it's a recent development, it varies. Some nights I get a little bit of sleep and others I’m up all night. So, I’ve taken to going for jogs with the hopes of tiring me out.” he replied, not bothering to mention that his night jogs more often than not ended up with a diversion or two that he would leave in the morning.
“That must suck,” she groused, and he mentally agreed. They came to her building, standing in front of the stairs that would lead to the keypad door. “Well, thanks for walking me home. I hope I didn’t take you too far off of your jogging route.” she smiled.
He smirked at her while holding eye contact, very aware of how much more attractive it made his features.
Her breath hitched and she bit her lip, she felt like she didn’t want this to end here. She had never gotten the opportunity to spend time with him before and didn’t want to let this chance slip through her fingers.
“Uhm, do you want to come up for a bit? I can bore you with my thesis and hopefully that would help you sleep.” she joked, pointing behind her to the door.
He chuckled then, “Sure, why not.”
She turned and took the stairs quickly, typing in her key code and opening the door. He entered beside her and she smiled at him before leading him up the elevator to her fourth floor flat. He took in her clean space, absently noting it was a one-bedroom apartment and she didn’t have a roommate.
Throwing her keys on the counter, Kagome toed off her shoes and motioned for Sesshoumaru to make himself comfortable. He sat on her couch while she went to the kitchen to get two bottles of water. He took note that she also had a corner apartment which afforded her just a bit more room and windows.
She put the cold bottles on the small coffee table, avoiding all the loose paper and books, and sat on the other side of the couch.
“So, where do you want me to begin?” she joked, taking up a thick stack of paper. His eyes crinkled in his mirth. Instead he took the pages from her hands and placed them back on the table. He leaned in towards her, hazel eyes locking with her confused blue. She leaned back on the arm of the couch and he followed her, watching as her pupils dilated.
He kissed her, tangling his hand in her hair as she wrapped hers around his neck.
Kagome’s mind went blissfully blank. She hadn’t anticipated this but couldn't be upset at the new development. She was aware that if the night progressed past this, she would be one in a long list of women with Sesshoumaru in common, but that didn’t concern her right now.
A moan left her lips as his mouth left hers and trailed kisses to her jawline and neck. Her eyes closed in bliss. There were flashes of passion, and giggling. Moans and murmurings of lust. Then there was pain, so much pain. She tried to fight it but it was all encompassing. Her dormant reiki rose to her defense, but it didn’t help.
The pain tried to override the sensations of passion. Then nothing.
.:o0o:.
Sesshoumaru looked at the woman lying haphazardly on her couch, panting. The top three buttons on her blouse undone and an angry mark on her shoulder. He licked his lips and groaned at the taste of her blood still on his tongue, the flavour of her reiki like an exotic spice blooming on his taste buds.
His teeth ached, ready for another drink of her unique flavour but knew he shouldn’t dare, lest he drain her accidentally. He felt her fighting his Compulsion, knew that she might not have succumbed as deeply as his other victims. It was easy to gain willing donors if they all thought you were sharing a night of passion after all. And without the effects of Compulsion his bite would hurt, something he learned after a while.
Brushing his platinum hair from his face, he reached down and pulled her panties off of her pliant form and threw them across the room before taking up her previously offered bottle of water and leaving her apartment. He would take the chance that she may not remember the pain and assume they had a one-night stand, like the rest. He cursed himself for a second, for going against all his self-imposed rules and feeding from someone he knew. While they weren’t close, at least he knew enough about her that casual relations weren’t a problem for her.
Leaving the building, he broke into a jog back to his own apartment on the edge of campus. His nightly jogs were the best time to find a donor. Anyone that was out at this time of night was more than likely up for a good time, and he easily made them think they had the best time.
He didn’t expect to see her out this late, when he had stopped it was out of sheer surprise and had offered to walk her home because it was the gentlemanly thing to do, and she was a friend. But the push of compulsion was an unconscious effort and when she invited him to her home, he found he didn’t have the will to say no.
He took a swig of water, hoping to wash the taste of her blood from his mouth. It was overpowering like licorice and making his mouth water. Changing his course, he decided to go out and find another partner for the night, eager to get Kagome out of his mind.
.:o0o:.
Kagome awoke sluggishly. Her head pounded and her neck hurt from the odd angle of how she fell asleep.
‘Why am I on the couch?’ She wondered, holding her head while sitting up. Looking around the room for any form of answers, she saw a water bottle and quickly downed half the contents. She tried to remember the night before. She was extra tired and assumed it was because of her late-night stock taking.
‘Why is my shirt open? Wait..’ she paused, feeling sensations of pleasure. She rubbed her thighs together and realized she wasn’t wearing any underwear. Another flash brought memories of blonde hair; her hands entwined in the strands.
“Oh!” she recalled. ‘Sesshoumaru was here, we had sex’ She thought, trying to rake her fingers through her hair. She got up and shuffled to the kitchen, one eye closed in pain as she groped around her kitchen for medication. Popping two gel caplets in her mouth and chugging more water, she began rubbing her neck, trying in vain to get the kink out. She rubbed a particular nasty spot and a flash of pain went through her whole body.
“Holy hell,” she cursed, doubling over on the countertop. She tried to remember where and when this pain came from and it slowly overrode all her pleasurable memories of the night. She stumbled across her apartment to the bathroom and spat out the bile that gathered in her throat.
After coughing some more, she rinsed her mouth out in the sink and dared to look at herself in the mirror. She looked as bad as she felt, the bags under her eyes a rather unattractive bruisey hue, her hair was a mess but what took center stage was the angry red marks on her neck. Two slightly scabbed over cuts glared back at her in her reflection.
“What the…” she whispered. “What did he do to me?”
She went searching for her phone, hoping without hope that she had somehow accumulated his phone number in their years of acquaintanceship. No dice. Seeing his name in one of their group chats however provided her with a way to call him.
She put the phone on speaker and rested it on her sink while she analyzed herself in the mirror. With shaking hands, she got her vest off and was unbuttoning her blouse when he picked up. He took so long that she thought he was going to ignore her call altogether.
“Good Morning Kagome.” he greeted calmly.
“What did you do to me?” she hissed, snatching the phone and bringing the device closer to her face. She didn’t want to miss a word of his response.
“I’m unsure what you mean.” He continued, “We saw each other last night, you invited me up to your apartment and I took you up on your hinting. I must say, I misjudged you, I didn’t think you were so naughty.”
“You did something to me; I know you did. Don’t do this Sesshoumaru. Why do I have cuts and bruising on my neck, why can’t I remember anything but pain?” she cried, cerulean eyes narrowed angrily.
“Don’t be like that Kags, we had fun. I didn’t do anything you didn’t want me to.” He replied coolly.
“Did you drug me? Take advantage of me?”
“I don’t appreciate these accusations Kagome.” his tone changed.
“And I don’t appreciate being gaslit!” she all but screamed. “Don’t be a bastard Sesshoumaru, I never pegged you for taking advantage of girls. I guess all those stories of your prowess are made up to cover your ra-”
“Don’t. You. dare.” he warned.
“What. did you do to me? You know what, I’m calling InuYasha.” she hung up before he could respond and tried to stop the shaking of her hands as she started typing in her best friend’s phone number. The phone rang before she could press the call icon, Sesshoumaru’s number flashed on her screen.
“What?” she answered.
“I’m outside, let me in.” was all he said. She rushed to a window and saw him standing in front of the building by the steps, looking directly at her. She didn’t even think to wonder how he got there so quickly. Maybe he was nearby.
“573985 number sign.” she told him her door code. He nodded and hung up.
Within a few moments he was knocking at her door, she opened it and stood to the side as he walked in, in an almost mirror of a few hours before. Only this time, the emotions were a lot different.
He took in her angry, dishevelled form, noting that her shirt was open further than when he left her. He saw the angry marks on her neck and blinked in alarm, his bites never marked. She was glaring at him as if to say “Well?”
“I didn’t drug you nor did I take advantage of you. Let’s get that out of the way.” He started. “What do you remember?”
She raised an eyebrow but decided to humor him. “We were on the couch, kissing. I see us fooling around, but then it gets clouded in pain and all I can remember is pain and passing out.”
“What do you mean ‘you see us’?”
She leaned on the back of the couch, fingers finding the sore spot on her neck once more, “When I think of the memory, it's hazy like I’m remembering a show I watched rather than something I did.”
He cursed under his breath and she latched onto the reaction like a predator on prey.
“You know something.” she accused, and he simply looked at her. She returned his gaze, taking in how bright his hazel eyes seemed, they were almost golden in hue, and she distinctly remembered last night they were darker, muddled. She was confident it wasn’t just a trick of the light.
“You’re different..” She murmured. She took in his features; he had always been pale in complexion, but she can never remember him looking flushed, or blushing.
“I am not.” He responded tightly.
“What’s going on?” she asked warily. “Sesshoumaru, you can tell me.” she almost pleaded.
He stepped closer to her and she had to look up to see his face. He willed her to stay still, and she did. Her eyes watched him as he leaned in and ran his lips over the bruises on her neck. He licked her skin once, languidly, before stepping backwards as if it took some effort.
“It won’t happen again.” he spoke before turning and leaving the apartment.
“No wait!” she called to the empty room. She let out a harsh breath before reaching for the bruise again, only to find the spot no longer tender to the touch. She ran into the bathroom, and zeroed in on her neck in the mirror, the bruising was gone.
.:o0o:
He avoided her after that. She tried to seek him out for a few days then stopped, deciding that she didn't like looking like the girl who couldn't take no or accept their one night together. She decided to pretend it didn't happen, he seemed intent on doing the same. Intent on pretending she didn't exist.
This was why she was completely flummoxed when she opened her apartment door after a long day in the library and saw him. He was obviously agitated, pacing.
"Why are you here?" She blurted out, swinging the door closed behind her. He looked up at her and she could tell he had been here for a while.
"I've been waiting for you, where have you been?" He snapped.
She put her book bag gently on the table closest to the door, eyeing him warily as she did so. "Why are you here?" She tried again, calmer. "You've spent the last I dunno month and a half pretending I don't exist. And now you're here out of the blue. In my apartment."
He seemed to sigh before running his fingers through his platinum hair.
"I swear you're giving me whiplash" she sighed. Walking into the kitchen to find something for dinner. Laying her finds on the countertop, she then turned on her oven.
She started chopping vegetables, but her own agitation was making her movements more forceful than necessary and she ended up slicing her finger on the sharp knife.
"Of course," she mumbled, applying pressure and running the faucet over the cut. She didn't see Sesshoumaru freeze in the other room and start to perspire.
"Can you look in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom and grab me a bandaid please" she called out to him. She didn't hear a response and walked around the column that blocked him from her view, "can you- are you ok?" She asked suddenly, noticing how clammy and uncomfortable he looked.
She walked over to him and touched his forehead. He jumped then tensed, as if he didn't realize she was so close. He was breathing heavily as well.
"Sesshoumaru?"
"Don't. move." He breathed out tense.
She froze, her uninjured hand stopped in the space between their bodies.
The preheating noise for the oven went off, surprising the two. Kagome jumped and before she knew it, she was pressed against the same column she had stepped around. When she got over her shock at how quickly they moved, she noticed that her injured finger was in Sesshoumaru's mouth and he was sucking it like a lollipop.
She gasped, watching the look of bliss on his face as she coaxed her blood with his tongue. A blush heated her face as she realized the intimate position, but her brain was going a mile a minute with this explosion of new information.
Sesshoumaru for his part was in heaven. He had come over to hopefully get another taste of her. He couldn't get her blood out of his mind. It was the most delicious delicacy. He didn't know what to tell her, especially when this problem was a hole of his own making.
He rubbed his tongue along her finger, enjoying the small droplets that he was able to taste, it was like satiating a craving. He opened his eyes half lidded, then widened them in shock, mirroring the shock he saw in her own gaze.
He popped her finger from his mouth and stepped back a step. She pulled her hand close to her body, her face confused.
Kagome narrowed her eyes in concentration, she was weirded out completely at the situation. She was certain, she wasn't sure how, but she was certain she just watched his eyes lighten from a dark ocher to a brighter hazel.
"Did you just...drink my blood?" She whispered, incredulous.
He didn't reply.
"You did, didn't you. Are-are you playing right now?" She took a deep breath. "Sesshoumaru, I need you to be real with me. What is going on?"
"What do you think?" He finally bit out, clearly upset. She couldn't tell if it was with her or himself.
"I'm thinking some wild things right now and I dunno if I want them to be true" she continued in a whisper, afraid that speaking any louder will set him upon her again.
"Tell me."
"It's dumb, it's so dumb. Are you a youkai? Wait you're not a vampire, are you?" She asked, helplessly. She was so confused, she felt like her reality just went into a blender.
"Now you know my secret" he murmured, pressing her against the wall again, intimidatingly.
"You're going to kill me now..." She whimpered, her fear spiking.
He chuckled darkly, leaning in as if to scent her skin. "Not if you can keep a secret"
"I don't want to die" she whispered. "Who would I tell, no one would believe me."
"I'm sure you can be very persuasive if you want to."
She struggled in his hold, trying to use her shoulders to push him away and create a space for her to get from beneath him. She slipped through and ran to the door; he grabbed her and pulled her bodily back towards him and caged her to his.
"Please let me go. I promise I won't tell anyone." She pleaded, winded and scared. "I'll let you feed from me whenever you want." She threw in quickly, anything to keep her alive.
"I assure you; I've never had a problem with finding donors to feed from." He said arrogantly. "However, having a consistent donor could have its merits."
He turned her to look at him, hands like steel clamps on her shoulders to keep her from moving.
"You will feed me whenever I want." He commanded and she nodded slowly.
"Will it hurt?" She questioned smally.
"I can Compel you to believe we are making love; the pleasurable emotions will negate any pain from my bite." He said after a moment.
She took a moment to process before her eyes widened in a realization. "So, wait, all these women that think they had a wild night with you, you were only feeding off of them?"
"Most of them. There are some who have been privileged to have the pleasure of this Sesshoumaru." He corrected.
"Can vampires even have sex?" She blurted, eyes widening when she realized that she said that aloud.
He narrowed his eyes at her, "I am warm to your touch am I not? My heart pumps just as yours do. I can cease all functions but what reason would there be if I'm trying to pretend to be mortal." He sneered. And she nodded, contrite.
He stepped away from her, taking a deep inhale of air that wasn't laced with her blood.
"Since we have this agreement, I can freely admit that your blood calls to me. More so than anyone else's."
"How comes?" She asked stepping closer to the kitchen to put as much space in between them as possible.
"Your reiki" he replied simply. "The amount of power in your blood is intoxicating."
"Is that why you were here earlier? To bite me again?" She accused.
"Perhaps..." was all he would say.
"Well since I'm now your... blood slave" she sighed at that, "can you answer some questions for me?"
"I will answer what I feel is important." He answered magnanimously, sitting on the couch.
"How long have you been a vampire?"
"Long enough."
"Ookay. Did it hurt when you were turned?"
"Yes, imagine the pain you felt from my last feeding, magnified through your entire body." He answered blandly.
"Yeah that sounds like it sucks. So, can you eat and drink? I mean, does that affect you in any way?" She asked this one eagerly. She had of course seen him eating and drinking before.
"They do nothing for me, unless I eat fresh meat. I eat and drink because I enjoy it."
"Does InuYasha know?" She hesitated to ask this.
"Yes." He responded tightly, "though you will refrain from speaking to him about it. You vowed to tell no one. That includes InuYasha."
She nodded, promising herself to never bring that topic up again.
"It must be lonely, not really being able to get close to anyone for long periods of time."
"Your pity is misplaced." he assured her while standing. She watched him unfold his statuesque body from her overstuffed couch. "I'll be going now."
"You're not gonna feed?" She asked in concern then mentally facepalmed at reminding him of her new status.
He was on her then, stroking her face with one hand while the other braced himself against the wall. He smirked at her; the half smile almost mocking. "So eager." He crooned. "don't worry, you won't be feeding me tonight. I'll save your delicious blood for special occasions."
And with that, he left. Her heartbeat pounded in her ears in the empty apartment.
.:o0o:.
Special occasions turned out to be very subjective. Kagome grumbled to herself as she staggered from between the lesser used bookshelves at the back of the large library. She was tugging her long sleeve down her arm, to hide the bite marks on her inner elbow that seemed to be speeding through the healing process. It would be gone in an hour.
His first feeding after their agreement had once again happened in her apartment. He had come in the middle of the day with a hankering for her, seemingly out of control. It hurt. He claimed it was because she was tense and fearing the worst, she told him she couldn’t help it. Her powers were fighting to protect her from the attack on her. She was sluggish after and had to tell everyone that she wasn’t feeling well. He had left her there on her own.
She had eventually figured out how to keep her reiki from rising up in her defense. That allowed his Compulsion to work in a way. He wasn’t too pleased because he enjoyed that little extra bit of reiki. But he also hated when she tensed up, so a compromise was reached.
Because of this new normal, he would show up and essentially snack on her. That led to many semipublic meetings and sneaking off together. She didn’t even want to know what people were assuming of them. Especially since he continued to feed on other women all over campus. ‘Everyone probably thinks I’m allowing him to do whatever he wants to keep him, or that I don’t know about his philandering.’ she griped mentally, ignoring the looks of a few of the girls in the library as she went back to her table. She was pretty sure at least two of them knew Sesshoumaru.
‘Or he knows their blood.’
Pushing her hair behind her ear, she tried to become as inconspicuous as she could to continue studying. Deciding that she couldn’t concentrate with what felt like a million eyes on her, she stuffed her books in her book bag and walked as quickly as she could out of the library. Only to bump into Miroku, the taller man grabbed her to stop her from falling backwards.
“Hey Kagome” he greeted, pulling the girl into a hug.
“Miroku, hey!” she smiled at her friend, feeling better already.
“Where you heading?” he intertwined his arms with hers and waited for her to lead them.
“Well I was gonna go back home, don’t you need to use the library?”
“Nah, this was the best angle to watch the yoga class that happens in the courtyard over there.” he answered honestly, drawing a laugh from the smaller woman.
“Never change, Roku, never change.”
“Soooo” he began, “you and Sesshoumaru huh. How, when did that even happen?” Of course, he had seen his pale friend enter and leave the library. And he looked much calmer leaving than when he entered. He also heard some whispers of how she seemed to have snagged the womanizer, but he wouldn’t give up his other women.
“It's not like that,” she stuttered.
“You sure? You guys aren’t running off and fooling around all over campus?” He was skeptical.
She forgot about that. “Ah, yeah. It’s a long story. But it kinda just...happened.” she winced at how it sounded.
“Found your emotionally unavailable man to chase after I see.” he glanced over at her, seeing the blush that was ever present.
“I hope you know what you’re doing.” He warned, “I don’t want you getting hurt and this doesn’t seem like the best of situationships to be in.”
“Well, he keeps coming back, so I must be doing something right.” she said with confidence she didn’t have. She didn’t need her friends looking too deep into this.
“Well look at you Higurashi.” he laughed before steering her in a different direction, “C’mon, let's go to the convenience store, I need you to put in a good word for me with the girl at the counter.”
.:o0o:.
“Sesshoumaru!” Kagome half hissed; half moaned. She was currently pressed against a wall, her jean clad legs wrapped around his waist as he fed comfortably from her neck. She had been on her way to a meeting with her advisor and he pulled her into an empty room. If anyone walked in, it would look like they were fooling around, which was what he wanted after all.
She had heard enough giggled apologies over the last seven months to last her a lifetime.
The compulsion at this point was just feelings and sensations, he stopped sending her actual visions since it didn’t make sense to try and rewrite her memory of the feeding. So, while he was enjoying himself, she was too in a way.
He leaned back, looking at her through almost glowing, satiated, golden eyes. His trademark smirk slashed lazily against his lips.
“I thought we agreed that you would stop dragging me off.” she whispered, glaring halfheartedly at him.
“You suggested it, I did not commit.” he murmured, uncaring.
“You can’t keep doing this.” she hissed, trying to get out of his hold to no avail.
“I do as I please.”
“Yeah to my detriment.” She was upset because he was constantly making her late for things, she hadn’t had a date in months because everyone saw her as Sesshoumaru’s girl, even though he was all over the place galivanting. But it was a problem if she even tried to talk to another guy, much less flirt with him. It was incredibly frustrating, knowing that he was controlling her life simply because he wanted to get a drink whenever he felt like it.
They weren’t even friends, not even after all this time together. They had a very parasitic relationship and she was honestly over it. She wasn’t benefiting in any way from his continued attention.
“Look, you can’t keep doing this. I have to go about my life, I’m graduating soon and you’re causing me to fall behind on all my preparations. I’ll cut you off if I have to.” She warned.
“You wouldn’t dare.” he narrowed his eyes at her.
“Try me.” she said confidently. It wasn’t a matter of whether she would dare, but a matter if she could figure out how but if he thought she knew how to rebuke him, it might keep him in line.
He let her stand on her own reluctantly, eyeing her diminutive form warily.
“We will speak more on this another time.” he said.
“Yes, I have to go.” she grabbed her fallen bag and quit the room, pulling the strings on her hoodie to cover more of her neck as she power walked through the hallway.
.:o0o:.
He wasn’t happy, and he hadn’t been happy for a while. Not since she made her threat to withhold her blood from him. He had to visit her during ‘respectable hours’ and only at her apartment. This wasn’t good for him, as he’d developed a sort of addiction to her blood as it were. He was mature enough to admit that he might have taken it all a bit overboard with little regard to her, his donor, and the reprimand had stung more than he cared to admit.
Feeding from her regularly kept him from feeding as much from other people, which did little to stop the whispers of their ‘relationship’ and how serious he must now be about her to be giving up his other women. He snorted at the thought of them in a relationship. She was annoying at best and if he wasn’t inclined to keeping a personal blood bank, he would only interact with her when it was unavoidable.
But as it stands, this whole situation was a prison of his own making. He shouldn’t have broken his rules about feeding from friends and if he had kept it moving after walking her home all those months ago, he’d have been content with how his life and process had been.
But just because he was in prison didn’t mean he couldn’t enjoy his time there. The thought of their relationship, though laughable, was probably his best bet to continuing to get what he wanted. With a devious smirk, he continued his walk to her apartment. She may have found a way to mitigate his effect on her life, but he was used to getting what he wanted.

The graduation ceremony was drawn out, as they tended to be. All the pomp and circumstance just for an empty degree holder and note to pick up her actual paperwork a few weeks later. Aside from all of that, however, she was happy. She had managed to pull everything together at the final hour she was fed on less, her thesis was defended and now she was done with grad school.
She smiled happily with her parents as she posed for pictures with them, she noticed InuYasha and Miroku waiting in the wings for their own pictures with her. Both also finally finished with their studies as well.
She hadn’t seen Sesshoumaru much in the last week or so and definitely not today. She wasn’t worried about him, no, but she had gotten used to his near constant presence that she couldn’t help but wonder what he was up to.
She mentally cursed as she saw his statuesque form seem to float through the crowd, it was as if her thoughts summoned him. Her smile didn’t falter as her mother congratulated InuYasha beside her. She kept one eye on his advancing form while trying to stay focused in case someone asked her something.
He smirked openly at her and she felt her hackles rise. He came straight to their little family group and introduced himself to her family. Her mother looked at her in askance, but Kagome only narrowed her eyes at the man.
Her stomach flopped uncomfortably when he outright smiled at her mother, before sinking to one knee. Kagome’s world stopped abruptly. She heard her mother’s gasp, InuYasha’s stutter of confusion and literally all the conversation around them stopped. Everyone was in varying states of shock as the untouchable known womanizer pulled a velvet box from the depths of his own graduation gown and presented her with what was probably the largest diamond she had ever seen.
“Kagome Higurashi, we’ve had our ups and downs, but what other couple hasn’t. If there’s one thing I know though, is that I need you in my life forever. Would you do me the honour of becoming my wife?” he smirked as his spiel ended, hearing all the coos and awws from the growing crowd.
Kagome glanced around, seeing all the cameras and cell phones pointed in their direction, no doubt capturing this ‘beautiful moment’ to share on the internet. She stared at Sesshoumaru, her eyes hard as ice chips, but her smile stayed painted on her face. She saw the veiled threat in his gaze, the triumph at figuring a way to manipulate her and everyone around her to get his way.
“Kagome! I didn’t even know you were dating anyone” Her mother gasped, her hand over her mouth in shock. “Well, are you going to keep the poor boy waiting?”
The few seconds between when he asked the question and her answer felt like a positive eternity. She saw the life she had planned for herself flash before her eyes before dying a painful death. She could easily say no and walk away, leaving him with the embarrassment of this failed public proposal.
She opened her mouth to respond and tried to keep the sneer off of her face.
He only raised a brow in challenge. Waiting.

Well, what do you think was her answer?
