InuYasha belongs to Rumiko Takahashi, not this Ethereal Siren. I make no profit from this story. This was written in response to Nobody's Whale challenge.
Sesshoumaru flew though the morning mist that always seemed to blow around the north eastern shoreline this time of year. He had to meet up with the shard hunting group as part of their agreement to exchange information so that Naraku could be quickly defeated and the jewel could be reassembled, getting it out of the hands of random creatures seeking to wreak havoc across the lands. He knew that the group was following the latest rumor that a shard was here. Along with a more promising lead, he intended to inform the group that the rumored shard-carrying oni had already been brought down. It had no shard, just an unfortunate injury that sent it into a rampage.
The taiyoukai spotted the group trekking along the edge of a cliff where the forest ended and the beach began. He noted that his half-brother lead the group followed by the Slayer with the fire cat perched on her shoulder and the monk following behind her with the young kitsune hitching a ride on his shoulder. The strange miko who seemed more interested in watching the ocean below than the path ahead was lagging behind the group. He chose a convenient precipice which would be right in their line of sight on which to light.
The group of shard hunters came to a halt as the white demon appeared in front of them out of the fog. His hair, sleeves and mokomoko coming down around him, only to continue whipping in the wind with his brightly colored obi. In the following moment, only the roar of the waves and the wind rushing through the trees and clothing were heard.
"Wow, what a magnificent creature!" Kagome squeeled. "Can you believe that we were fortunate enough to witness such a spectacular display?! Oh, I can't wait to tell my family! If only I could have gotten a picture..." All the shard hunters turned to look behind them at the girl from the future raving about the "spectacular display" with their jaws hanging open in shock.
"Guys?... Did you not see it?" Kagome finally turned from the ocean once she was sure that the whale and it's baby wouldn't be making another appearance. At once she noticed everyone's shocked expression and InuYasha's scowl and twitching fuzzy ears, "What?" She soon spotted someone's white and gleaming attire waving in the wind beyond her friend's faces. Kagome stepped to the side to get a better look at who she immediately identified as a smirking Western Lord.
"Oh! Hello, Sesshoumaru, I didn't see you drop in!"
