In Atonement, everyone ends up suffering from the consequences of Inuyasha's hastiness and incapability to measure up to his brother at times. As the sun sets on a moonless night, Inuyasha desperately deals a blow to one of Naraku's puppets. He realizes only a moment too late that the puppet was hiding the only person his brother ever cared about. Throughout the story, the characters go through a variety of transitions and trials, all set into motion by a single mistake.

Toccata is quite different. It has a very horror-esque mood at times, and there are grim moments throughout the story. The major plot revolves around Sesshoumaru and Kagome trying to find contentment in unstable, dangerous lives.
